Albion, Maple Ridge Overview
Albion is a neighbourhood located in the city of Maple Ridge, BC. Interestingly, this area of Maple Ridge is the oldest non-indigenous community. Originally called East Haney, this neighbourhood was renamed Albion in 1907.

Previously a more remote community, Albion is connected to the rest of Maple Ridge through Langley via the Golden Ears Bridge. New homes continue to be built in the area, as well as expansions and growth in terms of shopping, parks, and schools. The community is further home to picnic and sports facilities, as well as trails for running and cycling. It’s an idyllic spot for any family, couple, or individual to settle down and call home.

The average home price in Albion, Maple Ridge currently sits at $794 175. Most houses tend to sell within 30 days on the market. And despite a recent drop in housing prices, the Albion area is seeing a steady incline in the average house cost. It’s up 8% in the last quarter alone.
Albion was once a smaller community and still is, but it’s facing various expansion efforts. Newer construction is taking place east of 240th street. Further, various new and necessary features for the area are underway.
The downtown of the greater Maple Ridge area is known as Haney, which is more north along the Fraser River and is about a 10-minute drive from Albion. Commuting to Vancouver takes just over an hour drive. Across the water from Albion is Macmillan Island and Fort Langley Macmillan Island was the former docking grounds of the Albion ferry, before the Golden Ears Bridge was constructed. Surrey is also located just north-west of Albion.
With bigger communities, towns, and cities just a drive away, Albion isn’t short on things to do or see. Various day trips allow residents to explore and experience all that Vancouver and surrounding towns and areas have to offer.

Residents enjoy the yearly Maple Ridge Country Fest on the Albion Fairgrounds. This event draws people from across the city every July. Further, these fairgrounds host a variety of other festivals and events throughout the year, such as Caribbean Fest and the Ridge Meadows Home Show. The sporting complex in the area also has an ice rink and a curling club. You won’t run out of things to do or sights to see. There’s options for all ages and all types of people.
