Port Coquitlam Homes for Sale

Just twenty-seven kilometers east of Vancouver is the city of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada. It sits peacefully on the north bank where the Fraser River meets the Pitt River. Port Coquitlam provides residents with a mixture of social activities as well as quiet green spaces where one can enjoy nature. Its close proximity to metropolitan amenities is another attractive feature of this river town.

The city is bordered by Coquitlam River on the west, Lincoln Avenue and Victoria Drive on the north, the Pitt River on the east, and the Fraser River on the south. British Columbia Highway 7 (Lougheed Highway) and Mary Hill Bypass are two of the main thoroughfares for vehicle traffic. There is never a shortage of events in Port Coquitlam. Each year, the PoCo Grand Prix Criterium bicycle race features men and women cyclists from around the world. Racers navigate forty to sixty-five laps on a 1.3-kilometer circuit, giving spectators plenty of action to see. Other events include Canada Day Celebrations, Christmas in Leigh Square, and the Terry Fox Hometown Run. Port Coquitlam preserves 266 hectares of natural areas and parkland along with forty-six kilometers of trails, including the Traboulay PoCo Trail. Other nearby recreational areas include Buntzen Lake with its beach, walking trails, and canoeing locations, Colony Farm Regional Park featuring a wildlife and bird sanctuary, and Pinecone Burke Provincial Park which offers hiking and first-rate mountain biking on Burke Mountain. Port Coquitlam also provides a nice selection of retail shopping at Dominion Triangle/Fremont Village, PoCo Place Mall, Prairie Mall, and the Downtown area, to name just a few.

Real estate in Port Coquitlam is available in many floor plans, including three and four bedroom options on one level or two. Common extras include a spacious layout, family room, and attached garage. Likewise, townhouses featuring contemporary touches along with an on-site pool and clubhouse are for sale.
