Mike started his love for cooking in his eighth-grade cooking class before moving on to making pizza at the age of 16 for his first job. He spent eight years working in kitchens and gaining the knowledge needed to be a successful restaurant owner. By 1994, he became a part of the Milestones club, spending the next 13 years working at multiple different locations as a chef. By 2010, he had opened up Big Feast Bistro. His new brand would focus on creating local, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options and has turned out to be quite successful.
On the menu, you will not only find great vegetarian and vegan options such as the fiery vegan sandwich and veggie burger, but they also offer ocean-wise quality seafood, sustainable meats and products made from free-run eggs.

This restaurant will give you a genuinely unique experience like no other. The building was originally built as the Bank of Montreal’s third-ever location and survived a fire back in 1932. After the fire, it was vacant and would eventually be used for WWII housing for a time before it was left to deteriorate. After a tremendous amount of work was put into the building due to the foundation not having cement, it was opened up in 1981 as the Billy Miner pub. Fast forward until 2002 when it was sold yet again and turned into what it is today. This building is authentic, and you will often yourself sipping on a refreshing beverage while feeling the rumble of the freight engines passing by; these same tracks that were used over 100 years ago.
